She gives you the tools and guidance to master your money, and she’s always there to listen, whether you want to share worries, big dreams, or goals. She's always up for a good talk, money related or not! Vera learns from every conversation to provide deeper support and more personalized suggestions.
Q: Is Vera a human?
A: Vera is an AI designed to serve you. Unlike a human advisor, she’s available 24/7, never judges, and gives personalized advice from day one. She learns from your interactions over time to provide increasingly refined and smarter support, becoming an always-present companion who helps you make confident money decisions and reach your goals.
Q: Will I be able to talk to a human financial advisor at any point? Does Vera replace a human advisor?
A: Vera provides general financial education and tools to support decision-making. The App does not provide investment, legal, tax, or financial advice, and no information within the App should be interpreted as such. You should consult with a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
Q: Is the information I share with Vera secure? What technology protects it?
A: Yes, your data is protected with enterprise-grade encryption and continuous monitoring to reduce intrusion risk.
Q: Will my private information be shared with other companies?
A: No. We don’t sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own use. We only disclose data to vetted service providers who operate on our behalf under strict contracts and confidentiality terms. Please see our Privacy Policy (www.tellvera.com/privacy) for more details.
Q: How can I manage my data and the info I share with Vera?
A: You decide what to share, either by connecting accounts or by manually entering your financial information. You’re always in control, with the ability to disconnect accounts or delete anything you’ve shared at any time. Your data belongs to you, and only you.
Q: How will my personal information be used?
A: Your personal information will only be used by Vera to get to know you better and provide the best advice on how to achieve your goals. We will not use your data to train our LLM (our AI engine).
Q: When will I have to pay for Vera?
A: When you download the app, you will have 30 days free access to the application. You can upgrade to a paid subscription at any time. The cost is $5/month. If you do not upgrade prior to the end of the 30 day trial period you will be locked out of using your account until you pay to upgrade.
Q: Will you use my information to try to sell me something?
A: No. Vera uses your information only to give advice aligned with the goals you set. We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t show third-party ads. You’re always in control and can ask Vera to stop giving you recommendations at any time.
Q: Are there any hidden charges or in-app purchases required?
A: Our business model is simple: a flat monthly subscription of $5/month. No setup fees, no hidden add-ons, no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
Q: How will I be able to request all my data to be erased if I choose to do so?
A: You can eliminate specific data shared with Vera in the Memories section of the app, and also delete your entire account from your settings. Please consider that in the latter case all your information will be completely eliminated and it will not be possible to recover it. This action can’t be reversed.
Q: How can I reset my password?
A: You can reset your password from the Settings section of the app.
Q: How can I get help setting up my account?
A: You can access our Help Center (help.tellvera.com) or contact our customer support team via live chat on our website (www.tellvera.com) to receive help setting up your account. Just look for the chat button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Q: Do I have to link my bank accounts to use Vera?
A: No. You can start without linking accounts and add them later. Connecting your accounts gives Vera a more complete picture of your financial situation so that her advice is more accurate, but it’s not mandatory. Connecting accounts is completely optional, and you can use Vera without linking anything by manually sharing your financial information or simply talking about your goals, plans, or worries. Vera uses Plaid for connecting accounts. You can connect and disconnect accounts anytime.
Q: How does account connection work?
A: Account connections are powered by Plaid, our trusted partner that securely links to a wide range of financial institutions, including checking, savings, credit cards, and money market accounts, as well as investment and retirement accounts like brokerages, 401(k)s, 529 plans, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
Q: If I start a conversation with Vera without creating an account, will she remember what we discussed for future sessions?
A: Vera will not store any information that was shared prior to creating an account. We encourage you to create an account before you move forward in your conversation with Vera. Accounts can be created for free, and you get 30 days of full free access.
Q: If I chat with Vera during the free trial, will she remember our conversations after I upgrade to a paid membership?
A: Yes, as long as you have created an account, Vera will remember any information you provided and carry over that knowledge to future sessions.
Q: How can I delete my account?
A: You can delete your account from the app by going to Settings > My Account and selecting Delete account (in red). When you delete your account, your personal and financial data will be permanently removed from our records. In some cases, certain information may need to be retained to comply with legal requirements, but it will be deleted once the retention period ends. If you create a new account later, your past data will not be restored.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. If you have an active subscription, you will need to cancel it directly through your app store. Any bank accounts and cards connected through Plaid will be automatically disconnected when your account is deleted. However, Plaid may still retain some of your information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
Q: Which languages does Vera support?
A: Vera will match the language your device is set to, but she can understand and reply in most languages. Want to check if yours works? Just start typing in it — Vera will answer in the same language!
